1. What is the most popular music genre in your neighborhood?

The most popular music genre in our culture is probably techno music or pop music. The most popular artists are probably Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Adele. They are artists who sing mostly pop songs.

2. Which period that R&B became popular in your country?

R&B became popular in our country a long time ago, close to 1960’s and 1970’s when Michael Jackson made R&B music. Recently, R&B became popular again around 2005, when Rihanna, another popular artist, started making R&B music.

3 . We are researching about 6 different genres: R&B, Pop, EDM, Rap, Rock, Country. What is the artist that you consider the most 5 famous artists in each genre?  (followed by your favourite)

The most famous artists in R&B throughout the year include Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Beyonce (the best), Usher, Prince. When it comes to pop there are too many but here is what we found Taylor Swift, Adele, Justin Bieber, One direction, Alessa Cara, and Shawn Mendes. We Don’t listen to much country but there are a lot of artists that produce a lot of good music including Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Carrie Underwood,Thomas Rhett, and Tim Mcgraw. The EDM stars include DAvid Guetta, Kaskade, Calvin Harris, Skrillex, and Diplo. The best rappers that we know of are Eminem, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. And lastly, the top rock artist that we can think and know of are The Beatles, Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Bastille, and Coldplay

4. Do you like Skrillex, Diplo, NGHTMRE, Marshmallow or any other artists in EDM. What are your favourite genres: electro, house, dubstep, brostep, trance,.....

Skrillex is the only popular artist from EDM in America. Dubstep is a very popular music genre for young adults in America. Electro is probably a close second from the list you provided. Most people in Clarkston listen to Skrillex and Diplo, but not so much NGHTMRE or Marshmer favorite genres would be dubstep and electro. There are not many songs in the genres of house, or brostep.

5. Do you prefer listening to music with MV or just listening to audio version?

I prefer listening to music as an audio version, mostly because those songs have been auto tuned to sound better. I also like being able to listen to music on my phone wherever I go, and whenever I want. We have a lot of popular websites such as youtube, and pandora, that we can listen to audio tracks of music.

6. Which ways do you usually choose to listen to music? CD or computer or you prefer live music

I really like cds, because my sister’s car has a cd outlet so we can listen to our favorite songs on all of her albums and cds. Unfortunately, cds are getting less and less popular, so a lot of places do not have cd outlets or stereos that you can put cds in anymore.

7. Could you list some popular Vietnamese artists if you know any?

I know an artist by the name of JustaTee, but that is it. I have a question for you- what are your favorite Vietnamese artists?

8. Do you like Kpop? In Vietnam, most of the girls, they really like handsome Korean singers. Do you?

I do not know of any handsome Korean Singers, although if you could share some that would be really cool, especially to see what Vietnam girls are interested in!
